Hydrosols often have a naturally fragrant smell, similar to their essential oil counterparts, but tend to be softer and much more earthy due to the water-soluble components in flower or plant part that are not present in essential oils.

Our skin is naturally designed to fight off infection and environmental stresses. What can hinder our skins ability to do so is affected by our pH level. Healthy skin is usually slightly acidic and has a pH level of around 5.5. This level can vary according to stressors such as diet and other environmental conditions such as exposure to smoking, pollution, products, and age. What most often disrupts our skins healthy pH level is our products. Most soaps are slightly alkaline allowing them to cut through oils but, this also reduces the skin’s naturally protective acidity. This shift in our pH is what can cause acne and breakouts to develop, making the use of a hydrosol (or toner) essential after cleansing the skin. To break it down, hydrosols (or toners) typically have a pH level of about 4.5-5.5, similar to our skins naturally acidic levels. When they are applied to the skin post-cleanse, it will help to re-balance sebum production and act as a strong anti-bacterial layer on the skin.

Aesha Wellness Rose Hydrosol
Rose Water is a cheaper ingredient than Rose Hydrosols and can be described as simply water scented/distilled with essential oils - like infused water.
Rose Hydrosols on the other hand, are especially produced for quality and more likely to retain skin beneficial minerals and offer mild aroma therapeutic benefits.
Rose hydrosol help the face oil absorb into the skin. It is absolute improves skin barrier function and reduces transdermal water loss. Calming, soothing, moisturizing and anti-aging properties, making face oil an effective complexion enhancer.
Aesha Wellness Orange Blossom Hydrosol
Orange flower produces neroli, which treats rosacea and other scars. Orange Blossom hydrosol works wonders for mature, oily, sensitive or acne-prone skin. Orange blossom has powerful anti-oxidant, astringent, antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. Moreover, orange flower hydrosols blend Vitamin C to fight with wrinkles and hydrate dry skin.
Orange Blossom hydrosol is beautifully fragrant and works to give your skin the little extra boost that it might need for the day. It also works well to cut through excess oil on the surface making it excellent for those with oily or acne-prone skin, especially when applied before makeup in the morning. Use: To help calm, spray liberally all over the face and chest. These calming properties can also help soothe digestive upsets. Simply spray a liberal amount on a cold or hot compress, then place on abdomen.

Aesha Wellness Organic Parijat Hydrosol
Parijat also known as Parijatha (Nyctanthes arbor-tristis) hydrosol also known as the Night Jasmine has been used.
These highly fragrant flowers open at night spreading their fragrance in the surrounding area with an intensely sweet floral aroma. The soothing aroma helps to reduce the bodies stress, support relaxation and elevated moods. The flower oil contains α-pinene, p-cymene, 1-hexanol, methylheptanone, phenyl acetaldehyde, 1-decenol and anisaldehyde. Due to these it has astringents, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant.
It can be used as a hair spray as it is a hair tonic.
Aesha Wellness Marigold Hydrosol
The potent energetic and therapeutic properties of Marigold (Tagetes lemmonii) are concentrated in this pure undiluted hydrosol. As they are naturally acidic, hydrosols help to balance the pH of the skin, regulate oil production, and clear problematic or irritated skin. Hydrosol is colloidal suspensions of essential oils, plant acids, and water-soluble compounds. Microparticles of essential oil and water-soluble compounds give the hydrosol its aroma and therapeutic effects. Marigold hydrosol is known for its remarkable ability to soothe the skin and is well suited for use with dry, itchy, irritated, damaged or problem skin. Store in a cool, dry place. Do not expose to direct sunlight or heat. For a cooling mist, store in the refrigerator.
Your hydrosol may be used as a therapeutic mist or as a hair and scalp tonic, and can be added to baths or diffusers.
Tulsi Holy Basil Facial Tonic Hydrosol
A team distilled using freshly harvested organic Tulsi leaves and its manjari (flowers). The astringent properties offers subtle, aromatic benefits for all skin conditions. Green tea Hydrosol Water
Green tea (Camellia Sinensis Sinensis variety) is used and known as one of the most powerful medicinal plants in the world for nearly 5000 years.
Green Tea (Camellia sinensis) hydrosol is loaded with antioxidant properties that fight inflammation and the production of bacteria. It along with being astringent and an antioxidant help to fight both acne and blackheads.
It treats puffy eyes as well as dark circles helps by shrink blood vessels underneath the delicate skin around the eyes.

Hydrosols are the organic distillation are less potent in concentration of the essential oil and as a result are more subtle in their properties. They are, however very useful for all kinds of reasons that may be similar to the use of an essential oil. They are safe to use with children and especially for very sensitive skin.

Do Ayurvedic treatments have side effects?
Not necessarily. But they can cause allergies in those who have sensitive skin. It is best to do a patch test before applying to greater surface.
